Singing Hills RV Park, Cave City KY

This is a cute little campground, with lots of tourist activities very close by, if we were in the mood to do them... Caves, kayaking, horseback riding, dinosaur world... But after the big weekend we really just need to relax. We'll have to stop here another time and spend a few days, but we'll be packing up and driving again tomorrow, so putting up the feet is just what we need.

This is one park where they say they have wifi, and it actually works!  The lady in the office was really sweet, and they give out the most comprehensive information of the area of any park we've stayed at... Even printing on the info page what county we're in, and what the surrounding counties are, in case of severe weather.  That's one thing we've noticed since traveling... If you don't know the name of the county, weather alerts don't help much.  I think the only thing we'll have to worry about tonight, though, is the heat.  Thank goodness for the AC!!

Seth and Brittanee's Wedding

What a beautiful day!  It's been raining most of this week, and the day was completely clear.  The temps at the rehearsal were in the 90's, and today they cooled to the 80's.  Perfect for an outdoor wedding!

The Hampton Coves Wedding Plantation has a fence for the wedding couples to attach a lock to commemorate their wedding.  Seth and Brittanee had theirs engraved with their names.

Monte Sano State Park, Monte Sano Mountain, Huntsville AL

We moved from Sean's place near Rogersville, to Monte Sano State Park outside Huntsville, today.  We are just a few miles from the wedding venue here, rather than an hour and a half, so it will be nice when leaving the reception tomorrow.  We are perched high atop Monte Sano Mountain here, and have very limited cell service, so we'll see if this even posts!  The temps are cooler up here, and we have lots of trees shading us... The heat and humidity was incredible this morning!

Brad's parents arrived this morning, and we've seen posts of other family that has arrived or is getting close.  We ought to all be ready for tomorrow night!

Rehearsal day

Today was rehearsal day.  The venue is gorgeous!  This is where the reception will be.

Memphis

We escaped North Alabama for the day, and drove up to Memphis to visit Brittanee and Seth.  They have a cute house on the north side of Memphis where Seth has been living since he started teaching here last year, and I think they've decided to stay at least another year.

Brittanee was still at work when we got there, so the guys hung out at the house, and I met my Memphis friend, Sandy, from jr high.  We ran with a group of 6 back then.  Sandy has always stayed in Memphis.  Sooooo fun to catch up.  The last time we saw each other was at someone's wedding back in the late 80's or early 90's.  We gabbed for 4 hours, and decided we needed another day to keep going.

I then met up with Brad and Seth and Brittanee at Corky's BBQ.  We all discovered it is important to specify WHICH Corky's we are meeting at.... We had three of us at one site, and one at the other.  Once we were all at the same place, we enjoyed their yummy Memphis dry rub ribs.  Soooo good!
