Exploring the park

This  morning we decided to check out one of the trails here at the park.  It was about a 3-1/2 mile hike, but much different terrain than we were walking on in Galveston!

And there's some of the white sugar sand that we'll find out at the beach.  We'll go find the beach on our next walk.

Alrighty then...

As we were walking along this walkway, Brad and Budger were behind me, and Brad started laughing. When I asked him what was so funny, he said, "You and Budger both just walked right over that snake."  I was not amused....

This is "The Big Lagoon".

This evening we met up with Carol and Dan again, and also Peggy and Ed, for trivia at a place called The Hangout, over on the Alabama side

And then we HAD to go to The Flora-Bama, a bar right in the Florida/Alabama line, there on the gulf, and caught a local favorite, The Smokin' Elvises.  They were really good!
