New Year's Eve

Today we went to see a couple of nearby attractions.  Probably the weirdest one was Stonehenge II, in Ingram.
A couple of pictures I nabbed off the website... Credits included.

There's also a couple of Easter Island guys.

We also visited the Museum of Western Art.  Very cool.  Mostly oils, a few watercolors, and some bronze statues of western scenes.  I took pictures of some of the outdoor art, but couldn't take pictures inside, so I included a few examples from their pamphlet.
An example of the types of paintings we saw inside.

For New Year's Eve night, we went to the dance hall in Luckenbach, Texas, which is just about the only thing there!  So much fun!
Brad wouldn't put on a fun hat...
This picture is for Jordan... This was hanging in the dance hall.
Random rooster sitting on one of the tables outside.  You could pet him, but he didn't appreciate being awakened.
Some pics around the outside... Several cute little buildings, and the general store, where someone is singing and playing every night.

We headed home early, to avoid the crazies on the road, and so the redneck could toast the new year with a real Bud Light, instead of the O'Douls he stuck to while we were out.

Happy 2016!

Triple T RV Resort, Kerrville TX

We left the Weatherford area this morning and drove south to Kerrville, TX.  Part of our drive was on the interstate... And it seems everything really is bigger in Texas, even the speed limits!

We saw a lot of this tree along the way... What kind of tree is this, Jill, that looks like it has lost all its leaves, then grows back new leaves in little puff balls?

We're staying at the Triple T RV Resort... Very cool place!  We took a walk around to check things out.
The "Lodge", which I guess is kind of like hotel rooms.
And some cute little cabins.
A seating area beside the lodge
More interesting trees.
Very nice, long lots to park on...
Budger got acquainted with some of the neighbors.
And he wanted to check out these strange plants. We didn't let him get too close!
There's a nice pool and hot tub, too.

We're just staying in and relaxing tonight.  Besides being right beside the highway, this seems like a really nice, quiet park, with activities if you are staying around long enough.  We may have to check it out again sometime.

Last night in Weatherford

We FINALLY got to see Jill and Glenn tonight!  Good friends, good food, lots of laughs!

There's always that ONE guy...

They left up their Christmas lights for us to see... So pretty!

Earlier in the day I packed away the Christmas things.
And we took a little 4 mile hike.  This was just across the road from our RV park.  It's one of those rails-to-trails paths.  We just walked a very short part of it.
Lots of animals to see along the way.

Ol' Billy did NOT want Budger to come too close.

This is definitely horse country.  Every couple of miles is another equine vet.
