Fix-it day

We woke up this morning to some rain, so we knew we couldn't get out to explore again today.  We decided to take care of a few things we've put off.  First up was Brad rotating a couple of tires on the RV.
Next, I needed a haircut... Thanks Mr. Brad!

We also have been talking about doing some thing about our rug.
We have to have something there, to cover up the edge of the slide out.
We couldn't continue the vinyl across that metal strip, because whatever is there needs to hang over the edge a bit to overlap onto the rest of the floor.  That's why almost all slide outs are carpeted in RVs.  But the rug we have is a lot wider, and was a real pain when I would bring in the slide, and I'd have to stop every few inches to pull the rug along.

So we cut the rug to the width we wanted (and took a bit off the ends too, to make the length better), and then sewed up the loose ends.
Ahhhh, much better!

Plus, the furnace vent isn't covered up anymore.
This will also make it easier to pull out of the way to sweep under the table, and to take it outside and give it a good shake.

Bo mostly supervised.
We rewarded ourselves with Sonic treats!

By using the sewing machine today, we have preserved its life on the road for another year.  When we set out, we decided we'd throw out anything we hadn't used in the first 12 months.  This was the first time we'd used the sewing machine... Just in the nick of time!  I've got a few things in my closet that are going to find their way to the thrift store soon, along with some things in the kitchen cabinets.
