Finally!! Brickyard Plantation Golf Club & RV Park

Today was a relatively short day of driving... Just about 4 hours.  Actually, it took about 4-1/2, but the additional time was because of a stop at a rest area, where they had separate parking for RV's, and we got to talking with a couple who was parked across from us.  They were from Boston, and we just chatted about where each of us had been, and where we were going.  They were headed to Florida, and both of us were glad to be finally heading out of the rain!

We also saw this cute little thing parked near us.  Cute, but I'm glad we have a little more room!

Today's drive was fairly uneventful compared to yesterday.  Except for that trucker next to us, who suddenly decided he wanted in our lane, and just started scooting over, before he was past us!!  We had to swerve a little over onto the shoulder until he realized what he was doing, and got back in his lane!

So we arrived here at the Brickyard Plantation around 1:00, got everything set up, and Brad headed out to golf, since we get free unlimited golf for the month we're here.  I settled down on the couch for a nap, after turning on the ballgame.  It was funny when we were checking in... The manager lady said something about being so cold, and Brad and I were thinking, "Yay, finally it's warm!"  It's still 68 degrees, at almost 6:00 p.m.

This seems to be a neat place.  Not too many people here right now, but the manager told us the Winter guests start arriving in the next couple of weeks.  Things will also be hopping this weekend, as there is a Bluegrass festival coming in, and I guess the place is packed!

Should be fun!

A few pictures I took while walking the dogs around:

We are really looking forward to not having to pack up and move again tomorrow.  We'll see if we remember how to do everything after sitting still for a month!!

  1. Plenty of room there! Better join in with the music festival or get your earplugs! Enjoy your visit.

    1. Oh, we're planning to enjoy the music festival! The campground host told us, when we were checking in, that we "had" to buy a weekend ticket to the festival, since we are staying here that weekend, but we had already decided that we wanted to. It should be fun!

    1. Ha! Well, it ought to be fun, anyway, and since it's right here, if there's something we don't like, we can just walk "home" for awhile.
