Ft Boonesborough State Park

We arrived here about 3:30, in the rain.  Not a hard driving rain, but rain, nonetheless.  Not good for checking out the surroundings.  We had really wanted to go visit the fort, but when we finished setting up about 4:00, that only left an hour that the fort was open, and it costs $8, and we really wanted to get our money's worth if we were going to pay it.  The truck needed to be filled up with fuel too... So with the rain, and the timing, we just decided we'd have to come back and visit another time.

The weather didn't lend itself to walking around and getting good pictures, either, so here's a few that I took from inside the RV.  It's a nice wooded park.  It would be fun to walk around... except for the dang rain!

Looks like tomorrow might be a rainy day too, as we continue to travel south... That storm off the east coast is hampering us a bit, but it looks like once we reach our final destination, things should be all dried out... And warm!

We've got Jambalaya planned for dinner tonight.  That should taste good with this chilly wet weather!

Speaking of food... It's really nice to be able to pull in to a rest area for a break, and be able to go inside our "house" and make sandwiches in there to eat on the road again, instead of keeping everything in a cooler inside the truck.  I made sandwiches and grabbed a box of crackers while Brad was walking the dogs, and we were ready to roll again!

UPDATE:  The rain subsided, so we were able to go for a walk with Hank and Budger after dinner.  We took the trail toward the fort, but didn't quite make it all the way.

The little creek we were walking beside, and some ghost trees, apparently

Things were starting to look a little Criminal Minds-ish...

Hmmm... Which trail should we take???

We headed back to the campground, since it was getting dark.
They have Halloween lights at the entrance.
