Exploring Aztec

Today we took a couple of walking paths into town to explore Aztec a little bit.  After seeing the town, we found the Visitors' Center, and picked up a few pamphlets of things to see and do in the vicinity.  This is the sign outside the Visitors' Center.  We saw one just like it at the edge of town.

I grilled some chicken beasts for dinner tonight, and used some of the yummy new stir fry sauce I made the other day to brush them with while cooking... So good!!

After dinner we walked a path we found yesterday outside the Aztec Ruins.

Beside the path there are several... Formations?  I'm not sure what to call them, but they all have a very similar rock along with a few small trees, surrounded by pieces of wood.

A prairie dog kept us entertained too.

We're slowly working ourselves back into our walking routine.  We've been lazy for awhile, since we left Florida.  Today we totaled about 5-1/2 miles.

We're planning on venturing outside of Aztec for some sight-seeing tomorrow.
