Potter Canyon Arches

The area around Aztec is full of natural sandstone arches.  We decided to explore the ones in Potter Canyon today.  It was a more difficult hike than we had anticipated, because of the very loose sand you have to walk on.  Totally worth it though.  The brochure we were using described the hikes to these formations as "easy hikes"... These New Mexico people are tougher than we are, I guess.

This one is called Outcrop Rock.
This is Alien Rock.
This is Pillar Rock.  It was by far the largest, both in height and circumference.
Walking around Pillar Rock.
Some of the terrain we walked on.
We're parking it in the recliners and enjoying the Olympics for the rest of the day!
