Some tower climbing and more music and food!

We finally made it out to the lookout tower at east beach that looks out over Big Lagoon, and out to the Gulf.
Looking out over Big Lagoon, and a peek at the Gulf.
Looking back at the walkway.  The campground is off in that direction too.
Looking east from the tower
And this is west from the tower
And straight down!!

After crashing this afternoon (we are both fighting off some kind of cold) we decided to get out and enjoy some music.  We went back to the Flora-Bama and listened to J. Hawkins and James Daniel.  They played kind of throwback country (think David Allen Coe, Johnny Cash, CCR), and some original tunes.
Then we headed to the Original Point Restaurant for some dinner.

We sat up at the bar so we could see the band... The only other open places were behind a wall or post where the band was blocked.  It's always fun to sit up at the bar though, and chat with the bartender.
We asked what their specialty was, and he told us they were famous for their mullet, and they make a mean fish chowder too, so that's what we ordered.
We got the mullet filets, and they were really good.  The bartender told us next time, we need to graduate to the bone-in variety.
These were pretty darn good, though, and so were the hushpuppies.

The band was called Bubba and Them.  They are a bluegrass band, and were very good.  I do miss people dancing between the tables and anywhere else there is an open spot, like in Breaux Bridge.
The bartender persuaded us to try a piece of the homemade key lime cake.  That sounded too good to pass up, so we ordered a piece to split.  Oh my!!!
So much goodness!!
