Wacky weather!

We're under several weather advisories today... Rip tide warnings and high surf warnings, which don't affect us because we're not going out in the water, and our campground is on (fairly) high ground.  Brad talked to a guy who had been camping at Ft Pickens State Park, out on Santa Rosa Island, where Pensacola Beach is, and he told Brad they were evacuating everyone there out of a possibility the road may get underwater.  We camped there a couple of years ago, and that is totally understandable, because the island is very narrow, sometimes barely any sand on either side of the road before you see water.  This campground was completely full over the weekend, but several spots opened up Sunday afternoon and Monday, so we may be getting more people from over there today.

We are supposed to get rain today, and the winds have a possibility of gusts to 40 mph, so it's a good thing we're not planning on going anywhere with the RV.  We did move the RV slightly in our spot, because we had a large bush/small tree right against the side, and Brad was afraid it would batter against the side.

The park rangers and campground hosts are keeping a close eye on the weather, and we do have places we can go if things get severe.

This is the warning about Santa Rosa Island.

And this is our wind warning.

Well, things got exciting later tonight...
That was when I headed to the shower house.  Brad headed over shortly after me, and was over on the men's side.
Pretty tense for awhile.  Over on the women's side, we had several couples and three dogs.  Brad said it was about the same on the men's side.  One couple was from Quebec, and they sure weren't used to this!  The rest of the people seemed to be from Minnesota and Michigan.  We felt pretty safe in there, because one of the park rangers had told one guy that the building had survived two hurricanes.

About 8:10, Brad and I decided we were in the all clear, and came back to the RV.  Whew!
